The Shattered Dawn

In the aftermath of the Overlook’s devastation, the price of victory came due. Jasper’s bargain with Ahazu rippled outward with cataclysmic force: the Well of Darkness yawned open beneath him, and the warlock was dragged down into a vortex of silence—claimed by the Seizer as payment for his hubris. At that same moment, Krull the Just met his end upon the cold edge of fate. Lolth herself descended into the collapsing forge, her venomous grace eclipsing all light. She struck down the paladin with contemptuous ease, claiming his noble soul as her trophy for daring to trespass upon her tangled web of schemes.

With those debts collected, the two freed powers—Ahazu and Lolth—turned their gazes upon Valeurax. What followed was not a battle but an execution. From high above in the Astral Elf’s spelljamming vessel, the party watched the Demon Lord of Ruin torn apart: Ahazu pulling the shadows from Valeurax’s form like threads, Lolth severing his wings and shattering his core essence with a single silk-sharp gesture. The planar tyrant who had nearly broken the cosmos died in silence, unmade by powers older and deeper than his ambition.

But in the forge’s dying light, one final sacrifice reshaped the moment. Shadowfire—demon, betrayer, and unwilling pawn of the Demogorgon—chose defiance. He offered himself to the Abyss, burning away his essence to shatter the Demogorgon’s binding and release the imprisoned monk Jotunn. In doing so, he ripped open a raw portal to Pazunia, urging the battered party to flee as the last fragments of the forge collapsed into nothing.

The adventurers emerged onto the blasted fields of the Abyss’s first layer, only moments ahead of the ruin behind them. From there, with grim determination, they turned their magics toward home. Their return to the Material Plane revealed a world changed beyond recognition—scarred by a war already ended, its kingdoms staggered, its skies dimmed. The destruction of the Soul Forge had severed Valeurax’s rifts and halted the further collapse of the planes, but it could not reverse the wounds already carved into existence.

Now, standing upon the threshold of a new era, the party faces a solemn truth: The old world cannot be restored.

But a new world—rebuilt from the ashes of the last—might yet be forged by their hands.

The Age of Remaking has dawned.
